Changelog

DateTitleDescription
2026-10-07Fix Compare offering every property to filterA diff opened from a link or a watched folder now offers only the properties that differ in "Properties to display" straight away, as it already did after a page reload.
2026-10-06Pick items in large datasetsItems to display now works on datasets of any size, including NDJSON files still loading in the background. Type item numbers and ranges (e.g. 1,2 or 1-5) to show or hide them; a range can span millions of items. Hidden items are skipped rather than read, so "Load more" goes straight to the next shown item. The items you pick that have not loaded yet show up as soon as they do. Items are no longer listed one by one in the panel; the chips next to the input show what is hidden.
2026-10-06Slicelytics plugin for Claude CodeThe Slicelytics agent skill now installs as a Claude Code plugin: run /plugin marketplace add duryno/Slicelytics-public, then /plugin install slicelytics@slicelytics. Claude Code then knows how to open your JSON, NDJSON, CSV and TOON files in Slicelytics with the view already set up. Agents and scripts can also look up the link format and ViewSpec on the new link format reference page.
2026-10-03Large NDJSON files load in the backgroundNDJSON/JSONL files are now read and stored off the main thread, so the page stays responsive while a file of several gigabytes loads. The first items are shown right away, and a progress bar shows how many items have loaded and how much of the file has been read. If a file cannot be read to the end (e.g. one cut short), the items read until then are kept and the reason is shown.
2026-10-03Large datasets in CompareThe dataset you compare with is now streamed like the main one instead of being read into memory whole, so both sides of Compare can be large NDJSON files. Both panes show their first 100 items, and "Load more" in either pane loads the next batch of both, so their rows stay side by side. The compared dataset, however large, is restored on your next visit.
2026-10-02Large JSON, CSV and TOON files without freezingDatasets in every format are now shown 100 items at a time, with "Load more" for the next batch, instead of all at once. Filters still apply to the whole dataset, and Compare diffs and Share shares all of it, not only the items shown.
2026-10-02Faster response to filters and chart settingsTicking a checkbox, adding a filter chip, or changing a chart option now shows straight away, even on large datasets. The data, diff or chart catches up a moment later, dimmed while it updates.
2026-10-02Open data in Slicelytics from AI agentsAI agents (e.g. Claude Code) can now open your datasets in Slicelytics, as described in slicelytics.com/llms.txt. All data still stays in your browser.
2026-10-02Links that open a ready-made viewA link can now set up the whole view: the page (Explore, Visualize or Compare), the properties to show, value filters, the x-axis, and the chart type and metric for each property. A Compare link can carry both datasets.
2026-10-02Watch a folderClick "Watch a folder" in the Explore view to list the JSON, NDJSON, CSV and TOON files in a folder on your computer. New files show up as they are written; click one to load it. The folder is remembered across visits. Available in Chrome and Edge.
2026-10-02Install Slicelytics as an app (PWA)Slicelytics can now be installed as a desktop app. Links you open go to the app window you already have open, which offers them with a "Show" button instead of replacing what you are looking at.
2026-10-02Links survive login and checkoutOpening a link while signed out, or before subscribing, now brings you back to that link, with its data and view, once you have signed in or completed checkout.
2026-10-02Fix values missing after expanding allTurning on the Expand toggle no longer hides the values of primitive properties (strings, numbers, etc.).
2026-09-29Filter chipsActive filters are now shown as chips next to the items and properties inputs: hidden items or properties, value filters (e.g. foo="bar"), and consecutive items collapsed into ranges like 3-7. Remove a filter by clicking the x on its chip.
2026-09-29Autocomplete for property filtersThe properties filter input now suggests property names as you type, including nested properties (e.g. foo.bar) and = to start a value filter on a leaf property. Use the arrow keys to pick a suggestion and Tab or Enter to accept it.
2026-09-21Return to your page after signing inSigning in now takes you back to the page you were trying to open, including its query parameters, instead of the default page.
2026-07-10Value filters trim nested arraysFiltering by a value inside a nested array (e.g. records.type="sleep") now also removes the non-matching elements from that array, so only the matching ones are shown.
2026-07-09Improved lazy loading functionalityLazy load (i.e., "Load more") now respects all active filters, and loads up to 100 relevant new items at a time, regardless of their position in the dataset.
2026-07-09Introduce filtering by valueAdd support for filtering data by property value. E.g., foo="bar". Supports search in: Top-level arrays of objects, Nested arrays of objects, Array-valued properties, Nested objects, and primitives
2026-03-19Experimental support for multi-gigabyte datasetsAdd support for streaming of large (multiple gigabytes in size) datasets and infinite load for progressive visualization of items from such datasets. Support for compressed (Gzip & Zstandard) datasets is included
2026-02-15Support for visualization of datesAdd support for visualization of ISO 8601 date & date time strings. Plus, support for computation of min, max, range, and density metrics in date & date time arrays.
2026-01-24First release of sharing functionalityShare your work with others by clicking the Share FAB in the bottom-right corner. Current functionality is limited to datasets of up to a few megabytes.
2026-01-09Support drag-and-drop in Visualize viewAllow dropping a dataset directly into the Visualize view.
2026-01-05Allow exporting visualizations as PNG assetsExport your visualizations as PNG assets by clicking the Export button available in the Visualize view after selecting some metrics to visualize.
2026-01-02Add support for ZstandardFull support of Zstandard compression for all currently supported file formats (json, ndjson, jsonl, csv, toon).
2025-12-18Add support for TOONSupport datasets in TOON format.
2025-11-25Dataset persistence in Compare viewPersist datasets uploaded while in Compare view.
2025-11-25Display lineage delimiterIntroduce a more user-friendly display lineage delimiter.
2025-11-24Support for Dark themeAdd support for Dark theme. The theme of the app follows the user's device settings.
